Experienced National Standard instructors

bike cycleRodeSafety 's vision is more cyclists than cars on our roads.

Our Lead Instructor, Paul Rode, completed and passed a rigorous 4-day National Standard Instructor Training Programme with Kingston Borough Council , after which he worked with Advanced Instructors, monitoring and leading sessions. Paul then completed and passed the final assessment, becoming a fully accredited National Standard Cycle Instructor.  The course showed Paul how using some simple skills riding could be safe, fun and hassle free.  Moreover, it's cheaper, quicker and considerably more pleasant than using public transport! To achieve it's vision, RodeSafety works on a variety of levels:

With more than 10,000 miles under his belt, Paul is an experienced cyclist who knows first hand the real-world situations and conditions cyclists face every day. Paul has completed long distance multi-day rides from San Francisco to Los Angeles (twice) and from Land's End to John O'Groats (picture was Day 5 of 12!).  He also has experience of commuting from riding through Central London each day for 18 months. Paul also enjoys racing, and has completed three triathlons most recently the Olympic Distance Nokia Windsor Triathlon.

Paul lives in Twyford, Berkshire.  Prior to becoming a Cycling Instructor, Paul qualified as a Chartered Accountant (ACA) with PricewaterhouseCoopers working in the UK and the United States. Paul returned to the UK to complete his MBA at The University of Oxford, after which he worked in financial services. Outside of cycle training Paul is a keen photographer and has been published online and in print.
